Design
Build Quality
This HP Victus is made of
plastic and its build is solid as well as bulky weighing around 2.48kg with dimensions
370 x 262 x 24mm. But HP is really good because of its logo, rear styling and
good airflow with smart design elements.
Display
Here you have a 16.1-inch FHD display with and 16.9
aspect ratio with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. For most of the budget games this is a decent display for gaming having
300 nits of peak brightness. For regular use, it sometimes has low brightness
and less color accuracy. In case of casual use, the display is good. Viewing
angles aren’t up to the mark but the screen is WVA anti-glare one with a LED
Backlit Narrow border display that helps during work in a bright environment.
Performance
It gives 5th gen professor, AMD Ryzen 5
level of performance which is good if we consider budget gaming laptops. This
Hexa-core CPU with 8GB DDR4 RAM with speed up to 3200MHz won’t give much
trouble. This Vitus gaming laptop have
512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD and does not hamper day-to-day work. If we consider the
overall performance, then this 8GB RAM accompanied with 5th gen AMD
Ryzen 5 processor does not perform well but won’t disappoint us while doing
basic work, coding and running useful software.
Gaming
In terms of gaming, you might get skeptical about the
Core i5 processor and the credit goes to NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 with 4GB GDDR6
dedicated memory at 1080p. In the games where you have DLSS, the performance
gets a bump for free and without it in most of the games, you comfortably get
60+ FPS.
In battle royal games, you get good frame rates and can
enjoy the fluency of 165Hz refresh rate. If you are an FHD gamer, you can
really enjoy games at high resolution without any issues or in Medium/High to
enjoy more FPS giving more fluidity while gaming.
I/O
CONNECTIVITY
HP gives you no chance to complain on the port front as
there’s enough options. On the left-hand side, you have an Ethernet port along
with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a power adapter, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen
1 Type-C, Media card reader while on the right side, there are two USB Type-A
ports.
Coming to the connectivity part, this gaming laptop has
both Wi-Fi 6(2x2) Gig+ and Bluetooth 5.0, performing as expected, the network
reception on it is great and better than many flagship laptops and gives
incredible Wi-Fi speeds.
Audio
Webcam
This HP Victus is not perfect in terms of budget option
but is decent enough for daily use but could have been better.
On the webcam front, the 720p webcam is good and bright
enough satisfy the video call needs along with game streams as well.
Battery
Life
You can’t expect great battery here. It gives you an average of 3 hours of battery life with 4 battery cells. The additional weight of the charger and the laptop makes it heavy to carry and overall weighs around 3kg for sure. One good thing is the instant wake function that lets HP Victus power instantly soon as you open the lid.
